uuencode is not working properly

This is Sivakumar , my user name was c_spatur


I am trying to send one file to email from unix using uuencode command.

Pwd :  /vobs/cores/modem/uflow/modem_vu_vlane_x4_0

uuencode power_numbers_dc.tcl power_numbers_dc.tcl | mail c_spatur

I  received mail , but the file was not attached to the email, it was copied as text in the email  and it was not readable formate.
