Feature request for cmp: preference to output in hexadecimal instead of octal

I use cmp -l quite a bit to compare files.  However, I don't like that
it outputs in octal.   I've hacked my own copy so that it outputs in
hexadecimal instead, but I would appreciate a flag (maybe -h or -x?)
that switches output over to hexadecimal automatically.
