in my view it would improve the English version/"translation"... and I
think people would be capable of translating it correctly.

However, if that's the concern we could also use "chess program"
everywhere in the English version. This would be fine with me too and
would probably be a lot closer to the translation in other languages (at
least it would be the same in German).
