Hi

other items regarding the GTK frontend I can think of:

- use a newer GTK version
- using the GTK help for our texinfo files
- being able to use the GTK version on windows and os X would be great.
- in general, we probably could do with some UI improvements

I'm not sure how GSOC works, what would we have to do? Isn't the
deadline for projects to apply already gone?
