Unfortunally I don't have the time to work on this project, but I
thought it was a shame not to at least offer what I've done so far to
anyone interested in taking it further.

Perhaps Chromium could store the source + binaries, and create a "help
wanted" posting?

Nothing comes to mind(except as a testing tool of e.g CygWin X server on
multiple monitors).
