To be able to do OpenGL rendering on the slave nodes, you will have to install GLX as well as X11. Chromium can't do anything with OpenGL on the back ends until you make it available. A simple test, after you install GLX on the slaves, will be trying something simple like "glxgears" or "glxinfo".
