Chromium + VNC SPU + full desktop?

Is there a way to run a full desktop using Chromium over VNC? I tried
having the application be something like 'gnome-session', but the VNC
SPU uses the render's display for the window manager. This model would
have everything being rendering by the render spu, opengl + Xlib,
etc....So maybe my attempt was just destined to fail.

The other way I see of doing this is to have a modified VNC server and
some other glue/hacks that ensure that opengl commands get routed to the
CR lib. If the user wants to have the rendering happening on the
client, the vncviewer would have to be modified to start a crserver,
render spu, etc....

Does any of this exist?
