Chromium on Windows: MSVCR80D.dll file not found

I am slowly narrowing down the issues on getting CR running on my Windows
machine.

I have now narrowed the problem down to not finding a dll file
(MSVCR80D.dll). It seems that when I just run atlantis.exe at the command
prompt, everything is kosher. Likewise, with crserver.exe and
crappfaker.exer.

However, when altantis.exe is kicked off via Chromium, it seems to have
trouble finding the dll, MSVCR80D.dll). After reading through several MSVC
newsgroups, it seems that manifest files and MSVCR80D.dll are an issue that
one has to be careful with in MSVC8.

I haven't been able to resolve this issue. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I am thinking about going back to an old compiler, perhaps 7 or even 6. Any
recommendations as to which compiler might be most suitable with Chromium?
