Hey again,

I have tried out building with two pervious versions of XCode: 2.5 and
3.2.6.
For XCode 3.2.6 when I run gcc -v, I get:

gcc version 4.2.1 (Based on Apple Inc. build 5658) (LLVM build 2335.6)

instead of what I get for XCode 4.x

gcc version 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5666) (dot 3)

Because of this (I think) I get:

configure: WARNING: cxxabi.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: cxxabi.h: check for missing prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: cxxabi.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: cxxabi.h: section "Present But Cannot Be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: cxxabi.h: proceeding with the compiler's result
configure: WARNING: ##
------------------------------------------------- ##
configure: WARNING: ## Report this to [email protected]##
configure: WARNING: ##
------------------------------------------------- ##

which could be caused by the fact that I have my dependencies build with a
slightly different compiler?

For version 2.5 I get similar WARNINGs for other files as well.
The list of dependencies found is a lot shorter than when running
./configure with XCode 4 installed.

That's not what I meant. I was talking about Xcode itself, which used

Couldn't find the gcc_select command when installing either XCode 2.5 or
XCode 3.2.6.
I found some references of it online, but from what I can tell it was used
quite a while back to switch from gcc 2 to gcc 3 and the other way around (
http://opensource.apple.com/source/gcc_select/gcc_select-25/gcc_select).

Bye,
Alex.
