The deferred render manager of CS was made during the last GSOC and was a
really good job. It has however not been widely used and is still lacking
some features, although I don't know the precise list.

Improving this deferred RM for support of more advanced techniques such as
the one you propose or the inferred lighting I mentioned a few hours ago
(see http://graphics.cs.uiuc.edu/~kircher/publications.html and
http://mynameismjp.wordpress.com/2010/01/10/inferred-rendering/) is
clearly interesting IMO.

Another topic of interest in CS is the support for GLSL (with geometry and
tesselation if possible).
