Initial Comment:
When you want to draw a segment, you need to create 2
points first.

Is this necessary ? I would feel like drawing a segment
by clicking 2 points on the screen, and have those 2
points + 1 segment created at the same time.

For more complex constructs, like my suggested compass
behaviour, that would be event more useful...
