sorry. i'm busy juggling the rest of my life as well. do you have
anything specific in mind?

to answer these questions:

first of all, the whole ancestry page in the application is something
i don't even tend to look at anymore, so i don't think it's important
enough to maintain. originally i thought it would be an interesting
way to navigate, but it wasn't.

when a specimen is "saved" it means that your client program has
decided to save one of the members of the population on the server for
future reference. only the saved ones end up on the server, and the
intermediate ones disappear from the memory of your client program
eventually when they perish. i have it set up to save once every
minute during evolution.

i believe that "empty" indicates something that shouldn't happen, an error.

some interesting things are happening:

* i've been invited to speak at a summer school at the free university
of amsterdam, although unfortunately i won't be able to make it
personally so instead i will be making a movie of my presentation
which will be played. (anyone interested in demo-ing in Amsterdam ??)

* i'm writing another demonstration proposal for the BNAIC 2006
conference, which is where i won the best demo prize last year. this
gets me working on the software again, because it would be fun to
present something new.
