Well, things went from bad to worse, in that I uninstalled the JRE and can't
seem to get it back on. Now I get a message about a corrupt data1.cab file
in the installer (doesn't matter how many times I download it).

I've been browsing around and seem to be finding Windows XP Pro users are
having special difficulties with the latest Java installs. I probably would
have far less problems on my Linux laptop, but that's a slower chip with a
less advanced vid card, and I'm spoiled.

I'll keep at it, as time permits. I think the problems are not with
Fluidiom per se.
