Yeah, it's gonna take a new computer....

I didn't even notice, that JWS had been dropping little icons
("hs_err_pid..(numbers)") onto my desktop each time I'd tried this.  I
include one's text here as second log report.

I'd also not looked into the JWS icon that had appeared on my desktop, so I
used it, thinking I could make JWS log things.  (Right; logging....)

Now, starting fluidiom _from_ the webstart on my desktop (instead of surfing
in) produces different results:
With direct JWS access, the world I see has a crittur up close, and a row of
10 or so buttons across the bottom with other critturs' names in them.
Using the "maximize" button on this window doesn't drop the applet, it
completely freezes the computer, requiring a 'hard' restart (reboot).  It
also does not log anything but a few log header lines into the log file.

The other way, surfing in and buttoning to the applet, produces what I said
before: maximize button just immediately disintegrates the applet and leaves
me back in IE with the fluidiom main page.  It _does_ write lines to the log
file.  Both are included here:

This one resulted from starting fluidiom _with_ the Java Web Start console:
