Thank you for you reply Tait. Based on your feedback I tested different gnuplot versions (64 bit windows installer flavour) and 4.6.6 seems to be the last one capable of running on Server 2008 SP 2. Version 5.0.1 suffered from the same problem as 5.2.6. I will try 4.6.6 to see if it does what I need.
