I don't know. :-)

Give some other users enough time and they will be able to give more 
detailed answers.

There are several scripts that will copy categories or other data to 
various fields in IPTC.

has one named "MWIMatch_to_IPTC.ZIP"

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/imatchuserforum/files/Scripts/
has one named "Categories to IPTC.zip"

There are more but each would need to downloaded and opened to read 
what the script will or will not do.

In IMatch - Scripting > Scripts > IPTC, I have one named "HWK Copy 
IMatch Categories into IPTC categories and keywords" but I may have 
added that script. If so, it came from the files section at Yahoo.
