On most OSes can be performance issues with putting all your images in 
one folder. Sorts in particular will take longer. It really depends on 
the software, for instance hypothetically the particular behavior of a 
backup program may cause it to slow.

Ultimately may not matter depending on how you use it, but if it were me 
I would break them up. Since IMatch also doesn't really care if it's in 
lots of directories, I'd at least break it up by date if it were me 
(which is simple to do if you use tools like "Download Pro").
