Hi Users,
The Yahoo user forum did a pretty good job over the past years. It has it's
shortcomings but worked well in general.
With the help of some volunteer users I have worked in secrecy ;-) during the
past months to find, test, purchase, implement, secure and customize a new forum
software. After some iterations I finally decided to go with the well-known UBB
Threads software you probably know when you participate in other forums on the
web.
I'm proud to announce that the new forum for IMatch is now ready for prime time.
This is effective immediately. This means that I (and you) will try to move over
the discussion to the new forum within couple of weeks. Once all users have
moved, the Yahoo forum will be closed. It will remain accessible though.
I will re-post this message every other day to inform users about the change so
we can all move over.
You can find the new forum here:

If you have never worked with the UBB Threads interface, you find help and a FAQ
here:

1. To post messages on the new forum, you need to register.
To do so, follow the link "New user" at the top of the web site. This will lead
you to a short registration form. Follow the directions on screen. The entire
process should take less than a minute.
2. The new forum is "moderated".
This means that I have found some volunteer users which help me with the forum.
They can answer questions, help new users with the forum software, can remove
inadequate postings and do all the important maintenance tasks which allow a
forum to run.
Having moderators allows me to concentrate a bit more on developing the next
generation of IMatch, releasing the incremental updates for the current version
of IMatch and to devote my "support time" to the direct support requests I get
by emails.
3. The new forum software has a much better search functionality.
Yes. Finally :-)
4. Since the moderators and myself are also "new" to the forum software...
... Expect some smaller problems during the launch phase. I hope that the server
can handle the initially high traffic when all users move over, but I'm sure it
will keep up with the higher traffic. Expect slower response times until I get
everything tuned.
5. Different Forums
We have created multiple categories (aka "forums") in the new forum (message
board). This allows you to better organize your questions and to visit only the
forums you are interested in.
Please visit the "Announcements" forum first whenever you log in. I will post
important information there.
6. The "General Discussion"
This forum should be used to discuss topics not directly related to IMatch.
**PLEASE** use this forum for topics related to the new user forum!!!
7. Can we do this? Why don't you did that? Can we have...
And related questions. We have created the forum in a way that we think will
work best for the majority of all users. As usual we are open to all kinds of
suggestions but please hold them back until the new forum had some weeks to
establish. Much tuning can be done in many areas, and we will change things that
don't work and optimize other things.
