My (macbook pro) keyboard has a [fn] key that I can use together [F1, F2, ...] keys to bypass the OSX-specific meaning of these keys.
Alternatively you can disable Exposé, or assign to a different event like putting the mouse to a corner of the screen. This is all set in the System Preferences panel.
