You have seen this message, right? http://lists.science.uu.nl/pipermail/ipe-announce/2013-November/000055.html Open your file in a PDF viewer and check the "Document properties". If it doesn't state Ipe as both the Producer and Creator of the document, then the file has been tampered with and no longer contains Ipe markup. In that case, you need to look for an older version that has not yet been tampered with. Also look for autosave files (Ipe -> Help -> Show configuration will tell you where autosave files are stored). Ipe never deletes autosave files, so you may be lucky and find a recent version of your document). If both producer and creator of your file are "Ipe" but Ipe still cannot open the file, then there is a bug. Open a bug report and attach the file (or email it to me). Cheers, Otfried
