Hi,

since i struggled importing PDF using the standard 7.1.4 version that
comes shipped with Ubuntu 14.10 I thought I'll try compiling the
newest one.

I followed the instructions on http://sourceforge.net/p/ipe7/wiki/Home/#linux
and noted that they are a bit outdated and that Ubuntu 14.10 also has
a bug in the libturbojpeg package.

Here the fixes to the wiki text in order to be able to compile it:

---8<---
# Install the following:
 sudo apt-get install liblua5.2-dev libqt4-dev libcairo2-dev
libturbojpeg libjpeg-turbo8-dev checkinstall
# Due to a bug in the libturbojpeg package. A one-line fix is to execute:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libturbojpeg.so.0.0.0
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libturbojpeg.so
---8<---

This should let you compile ipe 7.1.7 sucessfully on Ubuntu 14.10
64bit (at least)

Ah I forgot to mention. The pdf import worked in the end with version 7.1.7 :-)
