crash of IPE 7.1.8 when right-clicking on a menu item, window 7

windows 7, 64 bit, using IPE 7.1.8.

I noticed IPE crashes each time when pointing the mouse to a
menu item, (such as the 'A' item to enter text) or any other,
then right-clicking (not left click) with the mouse.
