page numbering in 7.2.2

When I compile ipe 7.2.2 from source on FreeBSD, page numbers don't 
appear when the .pdf file is viewed with a pdf viewer.
However, if I use 7.1.10 (again compiled from source on the same system) 
on the same file, page numbers do appear
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but apparently something 
changed.
