Only to some extent. The following link
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/41382/how-to-use-linux-commands-in-windows-with-cygwin/
describes how to add the Cygwin path to the Windows path. That solved
half of the problem. The remaining problem is that Ipe now runs, but
the .pdf file it produces has a problem with text. If your picture
includes any text, ipe says "There was an error trying to run
pdflatex". I can run pdflatex by hand on the .tex file, and the
result is a blank page. So it looks like ipe is producing an
incorrect .pdf file.
I cannot understand this. The message "There was an error trying to run
pdflatex" means that Ipe failed to run pdflatex - in such a situation
Ipe will not save into PDF format (which it cannot do without having
read the output of pdflatex). So how could it create an incorrect
.pdf file?
Yes, you are right, Ipe does not save a .pdf file. What I said
above was confusing.
What I meant to say is that I run pdlfatex by hand on the .tex file
made by Ipe, and the resulting .pdf file is a blank page.
Note that the latex input created by Ipe is in such a format that you
may not necessarily see anything interesting in the PDF output. Did you
check that you can run pdflatex through the .bat file created by Ipe?
So start a Windows command shell (Windows+R, type "cmd") and cd to the
directory indicated by Ipe as the latex directory (Ipe -> Help -> Show
Configuration). Do NOT use the cygwin shell.
The directory should contain a file "runlatex.bat". Try executing it
with "call runlatex" from the command shell.
Ok, please look at this:
