I'll test the patch and let you know my what breaks and what doesn't 
;).  There has been dicsussion at apple, at least that was the rumor,  
about the best way to deal with stuff like this.  Apple ships with two 
implementations of libtool, one of which is the gnu version - glibtool 
stuff.
