This is a tough nut to crack. I've tried on several occassions and already 
spent some considerable time to fix it, but it all rather resulted in wrecking the 
flow of other images. The timing mechanisms have just gotten way too 
complicated.

How many of these images do you have? Are there any tools out in the wild 
that actually create them?
