In the meantime anoncvs updated and the fix seems to work nicely. So,
yes, a new release would certainly be nice.

MNG seems to fit our needs quite well.

I've now added JNG support to b2mng and added 2 sizes of the hdl2
theme with JNG images to cut down on file sizes. Here's a more
interesting file for you to look at:

BTW, while adding JNG support I found that libmng.h declares functions
called mng_[get|put]chunk_jdaa() but the library doesn't seem to
implement them.

I wonder if there's a way to bring the file size down further. Is
there a way to only replace some areas of the previous frame, similar
to how GIF animations are optimized? This won't help for all
animations but it could help for some of them.
