Hi Michael, The inability to select multiple objects on a stencil is indeed a bug. It's been fixed for OmniGraffle 5.1, which is currently coming along nicely in beta form: http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnigraffle/beta/ As for the way shared layers work, we'd be happy to talk to you through the OmniGraffle support email.
