Connecting multiple shapes to another shape

I'd like to select a bunch of shapes (we're talking hundreds), and 
then connect them all at once to the same shape.  Is this possible? 
Applescript, maybe?

Also, is there a way to disconnect everything from a shape?  When I 
add custom labels, I want to keep the lines.
