Using ordered lists

Hi. Where can I find decent documentation on using ordered lists? I can't
get Omni to reformat the numbers correctly when I move the items in the list
around. An Enter/Return creates blank space, not a new item, as I would
expect. But sometimes it unexpectedly does renumber smartly. I've given up
trying to guess and am willing to try RTFM, if only help search for "list"
would find the FM :)
