Hello, everyone,

I am forwarding Mark's announcement about the new zlib 1.2.1.

A faster inflate, and a faster crc32, are two of the most notable
improvements. What else? There are improved ports and new ports to
various systems and programming languages, there is an MMX-enabled
inflate (not turned on by default, but look in "contrib/inflate86"),
Z_RLE is fully functional, NO_GZCOMPRESS and NO_GZIP can turn off gz*
features for a leaner and meaner zlib special build for [PM]NG, etc.

There are also goodies which are not [PM]NG-related, such as an improved
minizip, an unofficial inflate64, etc.

Since Mark acknowledged the zlib-devel contributors, it's my turn to
thank Mark for the great implementation and coordination efforts.

What else should I say? Enjoy!
Cosmin
