The libpng repo has been prepared by extracting the contents of 
release tarballs and submitting the changes pertaining to each release 
using a script.  The user name associated with the changes is 
therefore usually not relevant since it will be the user id that the 
tarball changes were submitted under.

Historically, libpng sources were not managed using a version control 
system.
