I don't think it matters much what you call it.  The issue is that the
version operating system distributions use is most likely to come from here=

The tar archive there is "version 3.0.3 of 25 April 2021", and that is what
is installed on gentoo ~dev and Ubuntu.  I can confirm that gentoo gets the
archive from libpng.org, I don't know about Ubuntu.

The current pnggroup copy lost my last PR (the one that changed (char *)
into (const char *)), I assume that is deliberate but just in case.
