Also, on this theme, I've just pushed a new jpegtopng to my github repo: https://github.com/jbowler/jpegtopng This will take an JPEG and produce an, I hope, similar exIf chunk given an Exif APP1 marker in the original. It will also process an ISO XMP APP1 marker and produce PNG XMP data in the format documented in Wikipedia (hum, maybe we should adopt that keyword ;-) It processes APP2 ICC profiles as well. It really is *NOT* well tested; i.e. it may crash. To build compile with g++ and -ljpeg -lz I also have an extension to pngcheck that decompresses and displays zTXt and iTXt; the basis of my limited testing, but I'm not sure where to put that. If Glenn/Greg are happy I can simply push a new 'pngcheck' repo to github; my changes are based off 2.3.0 which is, I think, the latest.
