Thanks, John, I'm totally fine with that.  I've got a small patch here, if you
wouldn't mind incorporating it, too:

I've been sitting on it for years, apparently having been interrupted in the
process of adding UTF-8 printing support for iTXt.  (The last-modified time
was about when our remodel started...)  I've omitted that part of the patch
since it was seriously hackish and unfinished.
