Well, I think such kind of tool is good as example, but very VERY BAD as part of real image processing. Using pngexif in real image processing encourage users to ignore iCCP, gAMA, pHYs and may be even size from IHDR in favour of EXIF data (e.g. if user have some tool to parse EXIF). So I support compression of EXIF not only for saving space, but more for 'salt' to encourage developers to write software handling all PNG metadata, not only EXIF. 01.02.2017 17:34, Willem van Schaik пишет: > as an example, in my pngexif code (published here a week ago) I > currently don't need to use any library > > with zXIf I would need to include zlib, which would create a dependency > > ok, small one, but as I showed with zTXt, probably nobody will use this > "feature" > > Willem > > > > On 2017-02-01 01:33, Pavel Zlatovratskii wrote: >> What code are you talking about? >> >> For encoding software current zXIf proposal have 'uncompressed' >> compression method. >> >> For decoding software zlib decompression should be present even if >> software process only metadata: ICC Profile is compressed within iCCP >> chunk.
