hi team, this should be very simple, let's take an opportunity to include a useful JPEG piece - in this case exif - and embed it as a PNG chunk plus in the end we maybe .. maybe could even have PNG thumbnails in an EXIF chunk :) which adds value, because we all love our EXIF data like camera settings, date of taking the picture, GPS position, etc. but for me the most important, with such a PNG-EXIF chunk, camera manufacturers would have the option to avoid bloated RAW formats that are big and proprietary, because it could be standardized and compacted to a lossless PNG option including an EXIF chunk for the meta data so far nothing about safe or un-safe to copy !! who cares about all those post-process editing programs, they will be doing however dumb the developer is, it is what the camera software could be doing with PNG + EXIF in a better way and more efficient than RAW !! all in all, this EXIF chunk is something that could have been 'cast in stone' in a couple of weeks and then it became a war of zealots over semantics, seems that the PNG audience has changed last night I picked out one person for that, which I apologize for ... because it is not a single person, the whole group has changed and nothing gets done anymore, for 20 years if the 24 of us in 1996 would have operated like that, I'm truthfully serious that PNG would never have come to life wishing you all good luck, predicting that like the last 20 years nothing significant will happen with PNG till 2037 ... and even before that couple of youngsters will make something better Glenn, how do I unsubscribe ?? not a joke !!
