I might as well split the article it in two: one part with general EXIF caveats, and the other part with PNG-specific issues and motivation behind our design decisions. I found that people are generally more receptive to what I write if I keep my content short. It's a challenge in this particular case, because there are lots of things to be mentioned. But splitting the content in two might do the trick.
