Mailing list relaying/archiving is obviously considerably different 
than uploading source code where one is not necessarily responsible 
for the content.

As I recall, Glenn and I also notified SourceForge that we could not 
idemnify them (or anyone else) due to some perceived harm caused by 
our submissions.

Source code uploads are constrained entirely by the included license 
text, which always makes the recipient responsible for any harm, and 
the author harmless.  Indeed, every Open Source Initiative approved 
license includes such clauses and they starkly conflict with 
paragraphs of SourceForge's terms of use.

While seemingly technically trivial, it is actually difficult to run a 
mailing list.  It is wise to take care about switching mailing list 
providers.  Problems with received SPAM and failure to deliver are 
continually on-going and require time and skill to resolve.
