plustek opticfilm 8200i: gray scan not working

Hello

The support for the plustek opticfilm 8200i scanner is indicated as 
complete with the genesys backend, this is not the case.
I am using xsane 0.999 and sane 1.2.1 on Mageia9 distribution

As I pointed out in my message (copy below) dated July 31, 2023, the 
scan and preview do not work in grayscale mode.
