CanoScan LIDE 120 black scans - lamp remains off

I have older installation of Ubuntu 16.04 with libsane 1.0.28 where this 
scanner works OK.

On Ubuntu 22.04 neither with libsane 1.1.1 from distro or 1.2.1ppa3-jammy0 
from sane-releases ppa I can not make it to scan anything but a black 
page. I found out the lamp is never on. I also tried vuescan and results 
same, switching back to pc with Ubuntu 16.04 scanner works - so lamp is 
OK.

Any idea how to fix that?
