Hello!

I connected a new Canon Maxify GX7150 to the network (only ethernet) and installed the latest Linux drivers from Canon on my Linux PCs. To my surprise, I was able to access the scanner without any problems using XSane on Mageia 9, but not on openSUSE TumbleWeed. Then I noticed that the connection on Mageia 9 runs via "eSCL/airscan". On openSUSE TumbleWeed, however, the "sane-airscan" package is separate and is not automatically installed when XSane is installed. After installing this separate package on openSUSE TumbleWeed, I was able to work with XSane without any problems. This mea
ns that "eSCL/airscan" must be installed in order for me to recognize and use the Canon Maxify GX7150 scanner on the ethernet network.

Kind regards,

Markus
