Hi,
I have not seen that issue before with Xsane. I know that sometimes people
report that a window is tiny with nothing in it.
I think that is usually related to a corrupted configuration file.

Yeah, I've heard about the libusb issue. I believe Brother even say
something about it in the driver instructions now.

Xsane is well overdue a release and it is something that I am working on in
the background.
