Dear Leopold,

I publish my books through Scribus > PDF. To make an Epub I take the 
original Scribus file, take out the text and pictures and use the 
Calibre "Edit E-book 64 bit" to generate an EPUB. Calibre is free and 
works like a charm, at least for my books, which are mainly text.
