It's worth getting the 1.5.x version available, perhaps 1.5.6 or 1.5.7. I use fedora on Linux, and it has 1.5.6 in its own repository. https://sourceforge.net/projects/scribus/files/scribus-devel/1.5.7/ If you use a Mac, you want the file ending in .dmg.
