Hello! Seems fine for me (but I too would like to see a way to make it optional) :-) Look at 'show' and 'transform' properties of select-context/ seltrans for how one can implement tool options. Also in dialogs/desktop-properties.c is example of color selector, if you want to implement color choosing at this step - but just on/off toggle is fine with me.
