SodiPodi's drawing tools still need (in my opinion) quite a bit to match
commercial software. There are, for instance, no boolean operations 
(cut or merge
shapes from one another) which in my opinion is very important for a 
drawing applications.

Also, it could use support of more export formats (currently only does 
PNG but the anti-aliasing
isn't nearly as smooth as the anti-aliasing used for the display) and 
exporting to PostScript
doesn't seem to work well with shapes that contain transparency. I 
think it needs PDF export :-)

And this may also just be my experience because I'm running it on Mac 
OS X (10.3 with X11)
but it's quite unstable (crashes often, save often!). But, I must say, 
it's my favourite
open-source vector drawing app, and well worth it to use it.

Not quite sure if it's ready for heavy-duty commercial use yet, but we 
use it to do
logos, certificates etc. (We do training and consulting)
