Can you explain?
Current boolean ops are path transformation operations. I.e. they
transform path(s) into new path object, and the only way to get
orignials back is with undo.
Do you want just that on grouped objects, or do you want
'soft operations', that only make group to behave as single
globally filled and composed object, that can be broken back to 
components.

The latter can be implemented more effectively in other means, I
think - using SVG masks and view-only operations on sorted
vector paths.
