Snapping to grid

Hi all,

In my document I have "Show Grid" and "Snap to Grid" activated. When using the 
Pen the red line snaps, but not the cursor so the node ends up where I click 
- it doesn't matter that it snaps to the grid.
Afterwards i have to use Node Edit(which snaps just fine) to align the nodes 
to the grid.
How do I make the drawing items really snap to the grid?

BTW, is there some general documentation on this kind of stuff?
