There are other people with write access to the repository - me, for example. I'm working on Win32, though, and the latest changes made it impossible to build it on this platform. Additionally, I dislike some of the parts of Sodipodi that make it run on other platforms - there's too much special casing here and there... thus I'm not really motivated to contribute anymore. In my opinion, working on Inkscape (and maybe trying to fix their idea of a usable GUI ;) is more feasible.
